  • This autograph was written on 28 July 1897.  In researching for Meta I found an Ottilie Meta LIEBELT who was the 7th child & 1st daughter to Marie Louise MINKWITZ & Johann Friedrich LIEBELT & was born on the 28 July 1897 so could not have been the writer of the autograph. 
  • J.F. LIEBELT's parents were Johanna Caroline LUBASCH & Johann Gottlieb LIEBELT of Friedrichstadt.  Marie MINKWITZ known as Emilie was the daughter of J Gottfried MINKWITZ & Karoline Wilhelmine NAUCK.  This Ottilie Meta LIEBELT married Arnold Darwin RIX in 1920.

  • This autograph was written on 7 April 1901.  A Dora Selina KRAMM was the 2nd child of Anna Auguste HERBIG & Johann August Wilhelm KRAMM.
  • Anna's parents were Anna Caroline RATTEY & J Friedrich HERBIG married in Prussia.  J August Wilhelm KRAMM was the son of Christian Emile GERLACH & Heinrich Friedrich KRAMM.  This Dora Selina married Herman Gustav LIEBELT in 1926.
  • This Dora Selina KRAMM was only born on 7 April 1901.
  • The author believes this autograph was written for Dora's  birth by another person, perhaps her mother. We will continue to look for other women called Dora KRAMM  incase this is not correct.

  • This autograph was written in German on an unnamed date and it was preceded and followed by other autographs written in German.   A Carl Edgar LIEBELT  was the 4th child of Johanna Caroline LUBASCH  & Johann Gottlieb LIEBELT, he is a 1st cousin to the above Ottilie Meta LIEBELT. 
  • Anna's parents were Anna Caroline RATTEY & J Friedrich HERBIG married in Prussia.  J August Wilhelm KRAMM was the son of Christian Emile GERLACH & Heinrich Friedrich KRAMM.  This Dora Selina married Herman Gustav LIEBELT in 1926.

  • This autograph was written on 18 April 1914.  There is not enough information to identify which MUELLER this would be.  The family of Johann Carl Ferdinand MUELLER & Johanne Eleanora PAECH are not related to Elsie KRAMM. However the wife Edward Otto MUELLER, Pauline Hulda KUCHEL is a 1st cousin to Elsie KRAMM.

  • ​This autograph was written on 2 February 1913. A Florentina Gertrude LIEBELT was known as 'Florrie' and in 1909 she married Gottlieb Christoph BRAENDLER.  In 1913 Florrie would have been 24 years of age. 
  • Florrie's parents were Ottilie Clara ALTMANN & Johann August LIEBELT whose parents were Johanna Caroline LUBASCH & Johann Gottlieb LIEBELT of Friedrichstadt. Ottilie Clara ALTMANN's parents were Johanne Louise LIEBELT & J Karl Joseph ALTMANN.

  • Helena's parents were J Luise PÄCH & J Friedrich PAECH & married in 1851, Lobethal.  Luise is the 2nd child of Dorothea Elisabeth BARTEL & J Gottlieb PAECH & Wilhelm Albert STORCH the son of Johanne Julianne LAUBE & Carl August Heinrich STORCH.  This Rita Marie STORCH  married Ronald McDONALD,  in 1926.
  • This Rita Marie STORCH was born on 7 April 1901 which means she was 13 years of age if and when she wrote her autograph page.

  • Ottlie Lydia's parents were Maria Charlotte Friederike MEYER & Rev Karl Friedrich Adolph STREMPEL & married in 1858, Angaston. Maria is the 2nd child of Friedericke Wilhelmine STERNICKE & the missionary Heinrich August Eduard MEYER m in Germany arrived on the 'Caleb Angas' in 1840. Pastor BRAUER is the oldest child of Johanna Helena SCHAEPE & Hermann Guptav Adolph BRAUER.

  • Johanna Louise KUCHEL's  parents were Johanna Caroline LUBASCH &  Johann Gottlieb LIEBELT m 1847 in the Schoolroom at Hahndorf by Pastor Kavel.  Johann Gottlieb KUCHEL's parents were Johanne Dorothea Elisabeth KUCHEL &  Johann Gottfried Erdmann KUCHEL m 1838 in Prussia.

These 68 Autographed pages were scanned in 2023 from the original, which is from the Kathryn SCHMEISS Collection.   Kathryn is the author's 4th cousin and grew up off the Echunga Road on Schmeiss Road.

1.    Authors Note

On the inside page of this Autograph book it says [above] Elsa KRAMM, Hahndorf.  

Elsa was born Alfrida Elsa KRAMM on 18 July 1898, Nr Hahndorf, Nairne', [SAGHS Birth Index Database]. Elsa was the 2nd child of Anna Bertha LIEBELT & Carl Reinhold KRAMM.  

However the very next page is dated 1891 [left]  several pages later one is dated 1866 [right] which indicates this book was begun over 30 years before Elsa was born.  

Else is the grandmother of Kathryn SCHMEISS who has preserved this 160 year old autograph book which includes some scripts written in German. 

Elsa's mother was the youngest of 11 children born to Johanna Caroline LUBASCH & the 1st child of the '2nd LIEBELT son' [Johann Gottlieb LIEBELT] married to Maria Elisabeth KUCHEL.  They were both on the 'Zebra' which arrived in South Australia in 1839.
