Elon University's Club Hockey is one of 24 club sports Elon University offers to students. The team plays in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) in Division 2 against local rivals such as North Carolina State, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, College of Charlestown, University of Richmond, Georgetown, Navy, Duke University, and others. 

The club was founded in 2009 by T.J. O'Malley, and the first year the team was consisted of Elon Roller Hockey players that transitioned into ice hockey. The first year the team was in a league the team was actually called "NOLE" (which is Elon backwards) that played in the local men's hockey league. The team became accredited as an Elon club sport in 2010, and in the spring of 2011 played their first official ACHA game against University of North Carolina- Charlotte. In 2012, Elon hockey made a big step forward when it placed second in the Bill J. Hart Memorial Tournament which was hosted by North Carolina State.

Today, Elon hockey plays out of the Triangle Sportsplex in Hillsborough, North Carolina, which is roughly 25-30 minutes away from Elon's campus. The team is coached by Paul Cormier (who used to coach North Carolina State) and assisted by Rich Arnesen (who used to play in the NHL for the New York Rangers in the mid-90's). Together, the two coaches bring over 40 years of experience to the team and strive to make Elon Club Hockey into a major sport at Elon.
