The Oaks apartment buildings, built in 2006-2007, are the newest student apartment buildings on campus, and are home to over 500 Elon students living in 6 different buildings. The buildings are organized alphabetically by A, B, C, D, E and F.  Each building is named in honor of one of Elon's most esteemed faculty members, some including: Jo Watts Williams, John G. Sullivan, Janie P. Brown, and the late Janie E. Council. The biggest of the 6 buildings is building D which houses 120 people and the smallest of the buildings are buildings B and C which each house 72 people. All of the buildings offer both 4-person and 2-person apartments with the majority of the apartments being 2-person. The Oaks offers residence to sophomores and upperclassmen.

Each bedroom come fully furnished with a bed, a desk, a chair and a dresser in each room as well as living room features such as couches, chairs, tables and entertainment centers and kitchen features such as stoves, refrigerators and dishwashers. In addition, all Oaks apartments come with their own washer and dryer set. The dimensions of the rooms vary per building but the average room size is 11’ by 12’6’’. Unlike dorm living for freshman on campus it is co-ed. All apartments come with internet access, cable and a phone line for local calls.
