About United Way of Alamance County:
"Call to Action. Live United. Give, Advocate. Volunteer."
The above statement is the United Way of Alamance County's motto, which identifies the key aspects of the area's premier nonprofit funding organization. Inspired to better the quality of life for Alamance County residents and to establish a stronger community, the United Way works hard to understand the challenges and weaknesses of the county in order to provide the necessary human and health services.
Dependent on donors and volunteers, the United Way is appreciative for the good spirit of those in the community that help support their goals to educate members of the Alamance County and also fundraise and find funds that will help strengthen the community as a whole.
Working for nearly 90 years, the United Way of Alamance County has plenty of experience working with families and organizations. Focusing their goals, the United Way aims to make a difference and incite change in three specific areas: family and health stability, education and income/financial stability.
The United Way is proud that their funding efforts are determined by volunteers and not paid staff members. These volunteers are part of the Community Impact Priority Team that reviews grants and presents proposals to the United Way’s Board of Directors with suggestions for how to allocate funds.
Every year, the United Way establishes organizations that impact and benefit the Alamance County community. The following agencies represent the United Way’s partners and affiliates that they funded in 2012.
