William C. "Bill" Martin is the former Athletic director of the U of Michigan (2000-2010), owner of First Martin Corporation, a real estate development company, and an avid sailor.
As Athletic Director, Martin oversaw regular budget surpluses (a rarity in the era), the controversial expansion of Michigan Stadium, and the hiring of basketball coach John Beilein and football coach Rich Rodriguez. He was succeeded in 2010 by David Brandon.
