Officers responded to the Glencoe Hills Apartment complex after a residents heard three to four gunshots in the parking lot at about 6 p.m., Detective Lt. Steve Heller said. They found multiple shells and were following a blood trail leading east to a nearby apartment complex when dispatchers received other calls about a bleeding man in the area of Elmwood Street about a mile away.
