Jaime Magiera is a Lead DevOps Engineer at the University of Michigan. He ran for the Ward 4 Ann Arbor city council seat in 2015. In April of 2016, Magiera was elected to the Board of Directors of the People's Food Co-Op. He is also on the Executive Board of the Ann Arbor Dems. He was running for the Ann Arbor City Council in the August 8th 2017 Primary.
Magiera took out petitions on March 5, 2015 to qualify for the Ward 4 Ann Arbor City Council Democratic primary ballot. The date of the primary election is Aug. 4, 2015. Jack Eaton, incumbent Democrat for that Ward 4 seat, formalized his intent to seek re-election by taking out petitions on March 5, 2015. Both candidates appeared on the Democratic primary ballot.
In addition to his job at UM, Magiera founded and operates Sensory Research, which provides programming, multimedia design, web hosting, audio/video reinforcement and photography services. Since 1999 he has hosted a technology-related radio show called "Interactive Technologies" on WCBN 88.3 FM.
According to Magiera's campaign website, he is a member of the Sierra Club and a supporter of Ann Arbor's Ecology Center.

June 13, 2015: Participates in Ann Arbor Democratic Party candidate forum, along with incumbent Ward 4 councilmember Jack Eaton.
Apr. 15, 2015: Magiera participates in the Ann Arbor City Council debate at the University of Michigan Ford School.
2013: Begins work as lead developer and system administrator for Exercise Bytes Inc., a Washington D.C.-based firm.
2009-2011: Works as lead developer and system administrator for PlaySay Inc.
2009: Teaches class on interactive game programming in Cocoa at Eastern Michigan University.
2006-2008: Works as lead developer for Humble Daisy Inc.
2004: Begins work as technical support specialist for the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science & the Arts (LSA).
2004: Graduates from the University of Michigan with a bachelor's of music degree in performance art technology and technology interaction.
