Melissa "Missy" Stults is an environmentalist who serves on the Ann Arbor park advisory commission as well as the city's environmental commission.
In March 2012 she came to Ann Arbor to become a science research fellow and doctoral student at the University of Michigan, researching the adaptation and resilience strategies for inclusion in the U.S. National Climate Assessment. She is is doing a joint dissertation between Urban and Regional Planning and the School of Natural Resources and Environment.
She was appointed to the Ann Arbor park advisory commission in October 2012 for a term ending Sept. 30, 2015. She was nominated by mayor John Hieftje and confirmed by the Ann Arbor city council. She is PAC's representative on the city's environmental commission.
Prior to her move to Ann Arbor, Stults was a sustainability analyst with Summit Energy (now Schneider Electric) in Louisville, Kentucky. Before that she worked for ICLEI USA, an organization that helps local governments achieve their sustainability, climate protection, and clean energy goals.
Stults has a bachelors degree from the University of New England in marine biology and environmental science, and a masters degree in climate and society from Colombia University.
Stults is married to Bob Froncko, a business consultant/engineer.
