Obituary

Mr. Wu was born in 1924 in Shanghai, China. He died peacefully at home in Ann Arbor on January 24, 2011. Mr. Wu worked as an engineer for the Ford Motor Company and during his career he was part of the Ford Racing teams during their victories at the 24 hour Le Mans race in France and the Indianapolis 500. He was an accomplished athlete representing his country in five Olympics and winner of five gold medals at the Asian Games. In addition he was an avid and award winning photographer who will be honored this September by the Photographic Society of America. Survivors include his three brothers, D.K. (Dorothy), D.T. (Suzanne) and Don; his sister, Lillian (Gary) Keen; longtime close friend, Jennifer Dougall; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-8pm on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Nie Family Funeral Home, Carpenter Road Chapel, 2400 Carpenter Rd., Ann Arbor. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
