Warming centers are coordinated by the county to ensure that the homeless have a warm place to go in the winter.
A list of 2015-2016 shelters is maintained by the Community and Economic Development department. It includes the following:
- December 1-18, 2015 at Journey of Faith Christian Church, 1900 Manchester (Stadium at Washtenaw)
- December 21-24, 26-31 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1400 W Stadium
- January 4-29 at St. Mary's Student Parish, 331 Thompson

- Tuesdays and Thursdays at First Baptist Church, 517 E Washington St
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at First Congregational Church, 608 E William St
- March 1-31: Lord of Light Lutheran Church, 801 S Forest Ave
