Description: Family Literacy Services is an intergenerational educational program designed to encourage and empower parents in their role as their children's first and most influential teachers. The program recognizes and supports the family unit by creating a setting where parents interact with their child in a structured but flexible learning environment. The parents and children come to the same facility to learn at the same time. The parents, in their own classroom, are taking ESL (English as a Second Language). The children (ages 3 - 10) are in another classroom focusing on a curriculum dealing with pre-reading, reading, language development, listening, thinking, and life-coping skills. Spanish language services available.
