The interdisciplinary American Studies undergraduate major at the University of California, Berkeley seeks to take advantage of the depth and breadth of Americanist scholarship and research on the campus by defining our program to include the social sciences, material culture, the built environment, law, business, etc. along with the traditional American Studies mix of history and literature. At the same time, we help students build focused, individualized programs that draw on more than 400 Americanist course offerings at UCB per year. Over 60 faculty from departments and colleges across the campus are affiliated with American Studies.
Classes for Fall 2008.
