Discussion
The year started with high hopes and high results after a nationally televised win over Tennessee to start the season and then three wins over expected second tier competition. The game at Oregon was a very big win at the time and propelled the team to a Number 2 ranking in the Associated Press weekly football poll. After that point, the season took a turn for the worse as injuries and inconsistant play caused a 1 and 6 rest of the season.
