Restaurants to Enjoy the View and Local Atmosphere

  • Weinhaus Gut Sülz

    • Everyone is familiar with beer gardens around here, but this is a wine garden at the foot of a vineyard. While you lounge in adirondack chairs, the kids will enjoy running around, petting animals and playing on the small equipment. It is easy to get lost in time sampling the hundreds of wines, snacking on food and just enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.

  • Rohmühle

    • This restaurant sits on the east bank of the Rhine in a converted factory. It's enjoyable at anytime (reservations highly recommended for the restaurant), but it also has an outdoor cafe along the Rhine bike path with a great playground, so it makes a wonderful stop on a bike ride.

  • Schaumburger Hof

    • Traditional beer garden and gasthof. Located along the Rhine Promenade on the west bank, you can sit outside and enjoy beer and sausage or inside (reservations recommended) to enjoy fuller, tasty and traditional German meals. The building has hosted such guests Nietsche, Queen Victoria, Goethe, Beethoven, etc.
       

  • Dreesen Biergarten

    • A very ‘old world’ hotel on the Rhine with a nice outdoor beer garden along the Rhine Promenade on the west bank. The kids will enjoy the small play area with trampline. There is also a traditional Christmas market the first couple of weekends of advent.

  • Bastei

    • Restaurant and Beer Garden on the Rhine next to the Bad Godesburg ferry with 3 dining options.
