Grandfather Mountain
Grandfather Mountain is the tallest mountain in the Blue Ridge at 5,945 feet. The mountain is the only privately owned International Biosphere Reserve in the world.
Visitors can take the Mile-High Swinging Bridge over the mountain. The Swinging Bridge was built in 1952 and it links two of the mountain's peaks. It is called the Swinging Bridge because of its tendency to sway in high winds.
