Jack Kemp was a well known and well-loved Buffalonian.
He played Quarterback for the Buffalo Bills from 1962–1969.
Politically, he served in the United States Congress' 31st District from January 3, 1983 – January 3, 1989, the 38th District from January 3, 1973 – January 3, 1983 and the 39th District from January 3, 1971 – January 3, 1973. He also served as the United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from February 13, 1989 – January 19, 1993 under President George H.W. Bush.
