The Mayor is the chief executive of the City of Buffalo and also serves as a member of the Buffalo City Council. Buffalo has had nn mayors in its 179-year history. Notable mayors have included Ebenezer Johnson (first mayor of Buffalo), Grover Cleveland (NY Govenor and US President) and William Fargo, founder of Wells Fargo.
