North Chattanooga is a neighborhood defined geographically by its borders, the Tennessee River to the south and east, Red Bank to the west and Hixson to the North. It is further clarified by psychology, as residents of North Chattanooga are notoriously resistant to the self-consciously "hip & trendy" North Shore label while actually being self-consciously hip & trendy.
It's not such a bad place, really. Not at all.
North Chattanooga is all hills and valleys. It's a beautiful place, but, if you are riding your bike, be prepared to work pretty hard to get from point A to point B. It's worth the effort.
