The "Bidwell Bowl Amphitheater","39.731527","-121.843421" at first glance appears to be in a rather odd area, just behind Chico State's Physical Science Building adjacent to the Mansion Park neighborhoood. Constructed in 1938, it was the result of President Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration.
From the time it was built up to the 1960s, it was a center of many events such as concerts and speeches. These days, it's just a nice place to bring dates or sit with friends and enjoy Big Chico Creek. Children's Playground is nearby.

2009-05-01 15:01:11 This amphitheater has fallen into disuse. And is regularly patrolled by the police. Looking for drugs? A place to get drunk? Look elsewhere you will get busted. Maybe a local theatre company should start booking it. —76.105.35.244
