It is generally regarded as the "central post office" in town, since it serves both the 95926 and 95973 ZIP codes. It is also the only post office in Chico that has a passport window, and therefore all passport services in town must be taken care of here. Be aware that the passport hours vary from the general hours.

I tried to ask a question and the mail clerk there told me that they knew nothing about it. all the passport there must be done by appointments only. i am not sure how long this has been changed. • Interesting, I just went to the USPS website and looked it up and it says that they still have passport services. The hours vary a bit from what was posted here (since this is a community effort and not updated by anyone officially tied with the Postal Service, it's hard to keep up with minor changes), and I'll update them to reflect what the official website says. Makes me wonder if the USPS website is wrong or if the employee who happened to be working at that time was confused.

• I don't actually know, but according to the USPS.com listing for this post office, they include (530) 343-2068, which is a local number. Maybe give that number a try? Haven't called it myself, so I can't say for sure...
