The Hotel Diamond is one of Chico's most visible landmarks with its beautiful cupola. The hotel is just about in the heart of downtown, right on top of action, food, and shops. The hotel has free reserved parking spots in the parking garage to make access to the hotel easy. Chico State is just right around the corner.

The Hotel Diamond was originally opened in 1904 as a luxury hotel, lasting only a short few years. The use of the building changed over the years, until it became so dilapidated that the windows and doors were sealed shut. A local businessperson bought and remodeled it to its current state over the course of several years in the early 2000s. In 2005 the Hotel Diamond again opened its doors to Chico's visitors. In addition to the hotel, Johnnie's Restaurant is housed within the building.

The top floor of the hotel is reserved for the hotel's owner and special guests. It is a multi-room suite, complete with numerous balconies, two bedrooms, gourmet kitchen with viking/wolf appliances, large dining room, fully stocked bar, home cinema, and a CCTV monitoring the entrance. In the center of the suite is a spiral staircase that leads to the hotel's signature "lighthouse feature" where the outside can be accessed.
