The A.S. Women's Center is a non-profit, Activity Fee funded organization run solely by students and volunteers in the community. Since 1971, when their doors first opened, they have maintained a close and personal relationship with the University and the community.
They are dedicated to enriching the educational experience and quality of life for women in the University. To do this, they provide referral services and events to educate and empower women and raise awareness of women's and gender issues on the campus. Their objective is to carry on the legacy of their foremothers and continue educating people on the importance and necessity in understanding the history of women's oppression and the current position of women in society. Because women's issues cross so many boundaries, they will attempt to interpret, understand, and approach the issues from a wide range of interdisciplinary perspectives.
