The Student Government Association introduced Mudbowl in 2002. Every fall, student teams compete in volleyball in the mud! The Mudbowl uses tarp surrounded by bales of straw, filled with tons of murky dirt and water.
Mudbowl is a student –run event that is overseen by the SGA Chief Justice. The Mudbowl Executive Committee provides the vision and direction for the event, as well as leading their individual committees to ensure that Mudbowl is a success. Students who are on the executive committee will gain the experience of potentially working closely with the Student Government Association, university administration, campus leaders, and sharpening their programming and professional skills.
Any given year there are around 800 participants and 1,000 audience members attending the event. Participants are students only on teams of 6-10. The 2015 MudBowl event has just been announced!
