Senior Peer Counseling (SPC) provides support for seniors who are at a crossroad in their lives and need a caring, non-judgmental person to talk to as they navigate the challenges of grief, loss, depression, and other life changes many experience as they age. This program in now managed by Yolo Hospice through their bereavement department.

Eligibility:  Any Yolo County resident age 60 or older who is troubled by concerns of aging may be eligible.  There is no fee for counseling.

Assessment:  The program director will initially assess your needs and evaluate if Senior Peer Counseling can meet those needs and is a good fit for you.

Counselors:  Peer Counselors are volunteers (age 55 and older) recruited from throughout Yolo County.  They receive training and supervision by the Senior Peer Counseling Program Director.
