An Absence of Color is an amorphous musical group of loud sounds and catchy gestures.

An Absence of Color was first established as a solo-driven act for Antonio Nogueras to explore his capabilities as a musician and as a visual artist in 2004. Upon venturing into the Denton music scene, the idea of An Absence of Color has been more ingrained into it as of 2010.

Eclectic and raw, confusions arise from appearances. For example, upon a Simone Lounge gig, the staff thought the group to be a soft, acousticly-driven setting.......until they began to perform. What resulted was a cacophony of wondrous sound that baffled and slightly irritated the bar's staff and pissed off the establishment's landlord - a noteworthy success. An Absence of Color's wordpress site states:

" AAoC is now a conceptual effort to build upon the idea of music being a purely collaborative and beneficial entity to the community that it supports. The idea of An Absence of Color has taken on the meaning of “transparency” and lack of embellishment – no B.S. It can also mean quite the opposite in that it may be a bare, white canvas ready for the colors to be poured upon it for a new work of beauty and intrigue. Whatever the meaning, the point is that you can contribute."
