Gio's Pizza and Pasta was an Italian restaurant with a location off the square.

The restaurant was called Hot Box Pizza until recently. The new restaurant title comes from the current owner's name, sort of: the Italian name Giovanni (shortened to Gio, pronounced "Joe") is the equivalent of the name John in English.

There is another Gio's (actually called Giovanni's Pizza and Pasta) in Argyle, TX. It is run by the same owner, and is still currently open for business.

Whether the pizza was better than Hot Box is up to some dispute.

The business closed after just a few months due to "unfortunate circumstances", as confirmed by their facebook page. After closing they continued to ship out ads and coupons in the mail, which was confusing and frustrating. Especially if you got all excited about ordering pizza only to call and find that the phone has been disconnected.
