Alfred ("Al") John Lacoste (November 25, 1890 – April 11, 1974) was a city council member and later the mayor of Emeryville from 1936 to 1964.

Beginning in the 1910s, Lacoste was president of Bayle-LaCoste & Company, a meat-packing firm.

Lacoste was elected to city council in 1924, and selected by the council to be mayor in 1936. He was re-elected as mayor in 1942, 1944 and 1948.

In 1950, he ran for county assessor of Alameda County. He lost to Russell Horstmann 1 and continued his term as mayor. He was mayor until 1964. 2

Lacoste's son John Lacoste later served as the police chief.
