What do you know about HighBloodLeadinChildren?  In published research over the last 16 years, I'm co-author of studies showing that higher blood lead in children typically occurs when thoe exposed to environmental lead drink water treated with either fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) -- now used in Flint & Detroit -- or sodium silicofluoride (Na2SiF6),   For citations, see Wikipedia entry for Roger Masters or http://www.dartmouth.edu/~rmasters.  Since August 1967, H2SiF6 has been added to the Detroit water system, which served a large area including Flint, which separated from the Detroit system in April 2014 with a plant to use Lake water after 2016.  As that new linkage hasn't been completed, Flint reconnected to the Detroit system.  Result is higher lead absorption from old houses, lead pollution, or other environmental sources of lead (plenty in both Detroit & Flint.  High blood lead associated with learning deficits, substance abuse & violent crime.  EVIDENCE OF YOUR PROBLEM.  In national rates of urban violent crime, Detroit has been ranked #1 in the U.S., and Flint #3.  Instead of spending $$millions to replace lead pipes, try one year of a moratorium on using silicofluorides in Detroit-Flint water.  Cost: almost ZERO.  Advantage: the published science indicates that replaces pipes will have NO effect since problem is chemicals added to water.   For information call: Prof. Roger D.Masters, Nelson A.
