1998 Tour

This 1908 construction is a perfect example of the most common form of prairie style construction: the American Four-Square. Built as a duplex, each side of the house mirrors its counterpart. Currently home to twin brothers, the open duplex has a "relaxed formality" look with aneclectic mix of antique, traditional and contemporary furnishings and decor. Comments2: This duplex appears to have been built about 1906 or 1908. The property was owned by two different neighbors on this block of College Ave. Miner S. Keeler who sold it to Mary E. Joslin about 1908. It is not clear which one had the duplex built. It was obviously intended to be a rental property and it saw regular and frequent turnover through the years. An early tenant in 352 in 1912 was Carl. S. Voigt. The longest-termtenants were William DeBoer, who ran an employment bureau and Joseph W. DeBoer, Division Chief for the IRS. William moved in 354 in 1922 and stayed until 1948. Joseph moved into 352 in 1927 and did not move out until 1954.
