Brief History
The Artery Gallery opened in 2004 at 158 King St W in Downtown Kitchener. The space was donated to the University of Waterloo by the City of Kitchener, sponsored by local businesses and and renovated by Prof Art Green and his Fine Arts students. In 2010 the gallery was relocated next door to 156 King St W. 158 King St W is now home to the Critical Media Lab. The Artery is a student-run space that runs in affiliation with the UW Faculty of Fine Arts, SoFa and the City of Kitchener. The Artery will be closed down and transformed into condominiums come September 2012. There are unconfirmed rumours that the Gallery will be transported to Waterloo Campus where it will veto the Front Gallery in the East Campus Hall (ECH).
