- Although there are no hostels in Mareeba as of January 2015, there is a WWOOF location that is renovating a house as a future hostel.
- There are real estate locations on the main street that show rooms and houses for rent. You can also check GumTree online, and probably Facebook. A lot of Mareeba's Internet world seems to happen over Facebook.
- There are a couple of caravan parks that offer both camping and caravans for rent, namely, Mareeba Country Caravan Park at Emerald End Road, Phone 4092 3281; and Mareeba Riverside Caravan Park. Mareeba Rodeo purportedly offers camping, but they weren't accepting tents as of October 2014. The do offer free camping during the annual week-long Mareeba Rodeo event.
- As of March 2015, there was a laminated ad at the TransNorth Bus stop advertising accommodation for backpackers at $100/week. Included a complete kitchen and access to a pool.
