Ayala's Park (sometimes Ayala Park; briefly Central Park) opened to the public on June 30, 1895. 1 In 1903, the location became Idora Park.

The location was proposed for the Wilmerding Trade School in 1896, but that was ultimately built in San Francisco. 2 Following the announcement that Blair Park would not be reopened by the Oakland Transit Company, it was noted that Ayala Park would be improved into a "resort." 3 Construction on the dance pavilion started with the foundation in 1901, 4 but the rest wasn't done until 1902. 5
