East Bay Food Not Bombs (EBFNB) is an all-volunteer community project based in Berkeley and Oakland, especially at People's Park. EBFNB is a chapter of Food Not Bombs, a decentralized model for collecting food, preparing meals, and serving the hungry, especially in public places. Here's a summary from the Food Not Bombs website:
"Food Not Bombs is an all-volunteer anarchist disorganized chaotic non-organization dedicated to nonviolent social change. Food Not Bombs has no formal leaders and strives to include everyone in its decision making process. Each group recovers food that would otherwise be thrown out and makes fresh hot vegan and vegetarian meals that are served in outside in public spaces to anyone without restriction."
EBFNB is a fiscally-sponsored project of the East Bay Food Justice Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
