Completed in 1998, the Elihu M. Harris State Office Building is part of a complex of government buildings in Downtown Oakland, California Designed by architects DMJM Keating, Hansen Murakami Eshima, et al., this 740,000sq ft building houses state office employees.
The building was authorized by Senate Bill 772 (brought forward by Senator Nicholas Petris and then-Assemblywoman Barbara Lee) in 1993 and features a large glass atrium accessible to the public.
