Favianna Rodriguez (b. September 26, 1978) is an Oakland artist and cultural organizer. Her iconic work is noted for strong lines and bright colors.
Favianna was born and raised in Fruitvale. She has"Afro-Peruvian roots", and lived for a few years in Mexico City. She recently opened a studio at 2200 Adeline Street in West Oakland.
Ms. Rodriguez co-founded EastSide Arts Alliance and Visual Element (youth mural program) in 2001, Taller Tupa Amaru print studio in 2003, and Presente.org in 2009.
Favianna was the recipient of the East Bay Express Best Artist Readers' Poll Award in 2014 and 2015.
