The Idle Hour was a bar and Chinese restaurant at 3340 Foothill Blvd. open from at least 1960 to the early 2000's.
Some people remember it for the horseshoe bar with fancy metal work, carousel like awning and lighting, while others remember it mostly for the Chinese food.
Some of the people connected with it include "Scotty" Scott, c.1960, and James W. Boelk and Rich Boelk.
There are suggestions on Facebook that scenes from "Dying Young" with Julia Roberts, and "True Crime" with Clint Eastwood were filmed there.
