"Chief Whent Releases Revised Internal Affairs Policy – On Tuesday, June 26, Oakland Police Department (OPD) Interim Chief Sean C. Whent released a revision to the Department’s Internal Affairs policy. Chief Whent said that several new policies will be released over the next couple of months. These new policies should all help to reduce bureaucracy while maintaining the important elements and the spirit of the policies. It is all part of a plan to make OPD a contemporary police organization while also advancing compliance." - from Santana's weekly report 6/28/13
