Lake Merritt Boating Center ¹

The Lake Merritt Boating Center offers boat rental (pedal boat, canoe, row boat, and kayak) and classes for both youth and adults. For sailboat rental (El Toro, Sunfish, 14' Keelboats, Catamaran), individuals must provide a sailing certification, pass a sailing test, or have taken a sailboat with the Boating Center. They also offer youth camps and community programs - they're all about making it easier for people to get started with boating!

Boat rentals are cash only and are open daily March-October; Weekends only November-February.

Fall (September-October)	11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.*	10:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.*
Winter (November-February)	CLOSED	10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.*

* Time indicates when the last rental leaves the dock. Sailboats rented to experienced sailors only & must be rented 1/2 hour before the last rental time and returned to the dock 1/2 hour before closing. Customers are expected to rig, de-rig, and fold sails. Rain or winds over 10 mph result in closures.
