Lower Bottom Playaz is a West Oakland theater company that primarily produces works from the African American canon and original works. It was founded in 1999 by Ayodele "WordSlanger" Nzinga (who is also the current director). They are the only theater company of any size anywhere to complete the production of the entire American Century Cycle by August Wilson.
