Mural Lane is a corridor of murals on 15th Street between Franklin and Webster Streets. It has been developed and maintained by the Love Oakland Group (site), which describes itself as 'a collective of Activists, Artists, Gardeners and other Free Spirits that want to make Oakland the most beautiful city in the world.'
The group, coordinated by Jaime and Sarah Galindo have committed to maintaining the corridor though murals, in addition to greening efforts, like planting corn and other foods. Each mural is meant to reflect the nature of the businesses on which they paint.
Envision Academy, a charter school on the corner of 15th and Webster, also has a large mural painted on it, making it a part of Mural Lane.
Chuck Light painted the cherry blossom tree (see his blog) and according to Street Art SF also painted the dalmation.)
