Mao I [Public domain], via Wikimedia CommonsThe Oakland Internet Cat Video Festival is an "art and cat extravaganza" that will broadcast cat videos on the Great Wall of Oakland on Saturday May, 11, 2013 from 3 - 10 p.m.

The festival will be a benefit for the East Bay SPCA. You can find more information about the festival here.

On Friday night, May 10 2013, a preview screening will be at OMCA from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

According to the official site, festivalgoers will be able to enjoy the following in addition to cat videos:

  • Opportunity to adopt animals from local rescue shelters
  • Peruse cat products from vendors
  • Purchase noms from local food trucks
  • Participate in "cat-themed activities including a cat walk (pun intended), cat art projects, cat-themed bands and music, and many more fun activities for the whole family"
