The Our Liberation Mural is on the Telegraph Ave. side of the Youth Radio building. It was painted by Rachel Wolfe-Goldsmith (@wolfe_.pack)
According to their website:
“Our Liberation” was painted during the heat of uprisings in Oakland in 2020 and is truly a piece meant to fuel the movement. Recreating Delacroix’s famous painting “Liberty Leads the People” of the French Revolution, I replaced his characters with Oakland artists and activists. Yanni Brump, on the left, is a non-binary trans fashion designer and activist, pictured charging forward with their fist raised. Stoney Creation, a musician, DJ, and healer, is illustrated with her arm outstretched, inviting you into this new world we are creating. 1
