Peterson's Grocery Store was a small grocery in West Oakland owned and operated by Hans Peterson in the late 1800s. It was at 1700 - 8th St. at the corner of Willow.
The store is listed in the 1884-1885 up through 1892-1893 directories. The last is an enhanced listing, "Peterson, H. Fancy Groceries, Glassware, Tinware, etc." and says he lived at the same address. 2
The 1880-1881 directory lists a Hans Peterson working as a clerk at Schultz and Kock, a grocery and liquor store at 45th and Telegraph. 3
