Both public and private security cameras exist all over Oakland.
Some think this helps prevent crime. Others feel it's mega-scary because of surveillance. Still others think it's both, and/or grey.
In September 2013, there was a meeting for D4 about security cameras.
You can check out some security cameras mapped at videosurveillance.com and add your own. Here is another partial list, and a map. It would be cool to map some city-owned surveillance cameras below, like we've started doing with red light cameras.
