The Beginnings of Oakland was a brief history of Oakland written by Oakland librarian and historian Peter T. Conmy in 1961. The booklet is about 66 pages long, including a bibliography and list of cited court cases. It includes a number of photographs of men of early Oakland plus a photograph of Ina Coolbrith.
Copies are available at various library branches including the Oakland History Room in the Main Library, for in-library use only.
