The Brick Pig's House is a family owned, Arkansas-style barbecue restaurant in the Bushrod neighborhood of Oakland, California, across the street from Bushrod Park. Owners Carolyn and Barry Alexander opened The Brick Pig's House in the mid-2000's. Carolyn's family was from Arkansas, and her grandmother and mother both operated restaurants in Oakland. The meats are tender and juicy, and the owners are incredibly warm and welcoming.
Carolyn is passionate about higher education, if you are a college student or graduate she will give you a sheet of paper to decorate with your school and major and pin it on her wall.
Menu favorites include Ribs, Brisket, and Grilled Chicken, with sides of Collard Greens, Baked Beans, Pasta Salad, Coleslaw, and Sweet Potatoes. Finish off lunch or dinner with delicious Apple Pie, Peach Cobbler, or Blueberry Pie.
The restaurant has a wheelchair accessible entrance.
