The Valley Auto Garage, also known as the Elliot Shop, located at 440-448 23rd Street is a lovely brick building scheduled for demolition as part of the development of The Hive. While some of the buildings in the block have been preserved for new uses, housing is planned for this area. There are efforts to move the building to a new location, if a purchaser can be found. Like the nearby McMann Apartments, the building was designed by Clay Burrell.
Until recently, this building was the site of Bauer Porsche, but they recently moved to 601 Brush Street, near the intersection of the Nimitz Freeway and the Grove Shafter Freeway.
