Pettygrove Park is a park downtown between 1st/3rd and Harrison/Market.

The park was created in 1966, and the bronze sculpture was installed in 1979.  The park is named after Francis W. Pettygrove. The park was named by a coin toss between Asa Lovejoy and Francis Pettygrove, with this park being named after Pettygrove and Lovejoy Fountain Park being named after Lovejoy. The same coin was used to name Portland itself.
