At a certain age, you have no time left for nonsense. You tell it straight up like it is. Some people don’t like that, but too bad for them.
You’ve worked in business. You’ve worked in government. You’ve started a business. You know all the tricks, all the problems of life. At the other end of life are kids. Kids left alone, with parents too busy to teach and guide them. Kids and seniors are a great fit. It’s how we pass wisdom along. It’s how we talk about what really matters in life.
How do we pass on wisdom? One way is to help others. You know how people can work well with each other. You know what works. Put those ideas, that structure, into your Union, then give that structure to the Youth Union. That’s one way to pass along wisdom. Stating best practices. Showing kids they are not alone.
A union is nothing more, and nothing less, than a group of seniors getting together to tackle things like the bulk purchase of food. It can be formal or informal, but you need the freedom to run things your way, on your own time, when you have the energy.
Along with a group of friends, you can pool funds to hire a helper or a support worker. One of you may have a spare room for that worker. There is the possibility of creating work for your grandkids. As a group you can do that.
