Centro Cocina is one of the best mexican restaurants around. More formal than a quick taqueria, there is a bar and some interesting decorations as well as a heated outside area. They also have a fairly wide selection of tequila. It is more expensive than many places, but the food is undeniably good, particulary the fish and pork dishes. It does have what might be described as a slight "hipster" vibe about it. Sometimes you have to wait a while for a table.

There is also a bar/pool hall called the Blue Cue on the second floor above it owned by the same group

2008-09-18 14:41:34   Centro has some of the most authentic regional food around. It is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Sac. I really appreciate all my food NOT smothered in cheese, which is what it seems like every other place does. I love their tortilla soup, it's got avocado and some sort of tasty cheese chunks in it. I also highly recommend the empanadas. They used to call them quesadillas, but they are definitely more like an empanada. —AmLin
